The song starts out with another intense beat and Kanye references RoboCop to describe his relationship with a girl. I like this song, it’s not my favorite on the album but it’s a very upbeat and catchy song where Kanye shows off his flow and I love that, it has a good vibe and breaks the heartbreak sound that is prevalent on the songs before, that’s why I think it’s placement at around the middle of the album is great. If you’re not a fan of the songs before you probably won’t care for this song, as it’s one of the most changed songs on the album, but Kanye delivers a great hook and the auto tune sounds extremely at home in the beat. This is another great song on the album, this is another song that spearheaded the new Kanye sound, he originally debuted this at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards. It’s not as deep as the two songs before it, but it’s delivered so brilliantly it has a different vibe and I love it. Ye continues the sound that he started off the album with and he reflects on his life and career on this track as he raps over a drum heavy beat, this song also has one of the best hooks on the entire album in my opinion also. Probably the most famous and mainstream song on the whole album, and for good reason, it has it all, it has a unique and catchy beat and an emotionally charged Kanye, how much better can it get? This song I feel personifies the album perfectly, a unorthodox Kanye that seems to be writing down his raw feelings.

It also features Kid Cudi, who I think fits in perfectly with the vibe of the song. It’s one of the best delivered songs I think Kanye ever produced in my opinion, everything about this song is great. He reflects on how by chasing all the success he is missing out on the regular parts of life like love. It’s a deep song right off the bat where Kanye seems to be reflecting on him just having all these materialistic things and meanwhile his friends have families and kids. This is one of my favorite tracks on the whole album, there is a intense beat which I think actually sounds beautiful with the song. For me this symbolizes right off the bat this isn’t going to be your regular Kanye album, and he’s trying something completely different. The opening track to the album is a great instrumental which is sung over by a Kanye, this is a very interesting song because it seems to break out of the box of the old Kanye style, this song is very synth heavy and has a much more futuristic sound to it. This is Kanye’s 4th studio album, and was the sequel to Graduation.

808’s brings a different sound and vibe than Graduation, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Late Registration and other Kanye favorites. The reason this album brings such a polarizing aura, is because this album is extremely different from any other Kanye album in his discography. So here’s my personal take on 808’s, and I want to take this journey with you guys, to explore one of my favorite albums of all time. I personally reside in that side that happens to love the album, I feel like Kanye shows us a different side of him on the album and gives us a sound that hasn’t been replicated by anyone in that fact, or at least replicated in such vivid detail and delivery. It’s a very polarizing album in whole, for both Kanye fans and rap fans alike.
